MS Access Database with External Data - FoxPro ODBC drivers (OWC.exe file from MS)

FoxPro ODBC drivers (OWC.exe file from MS) - NOT installing ??

I have 2 computers. Both have the same versions of MS OFFICE (and Access).

I have installed the FoxPro ODBC drivers on one (using the OWC.exe install
file from Microsoft).

But...when installing it on the other computer....it reports that it DOES
install successfully. The whole process seems to go through without a hitch.

HOWEVER, when I select "Import" and ODBC...there are NO options for FoxPro
Tables. It's as those drivers were never installed.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing...but nothing.

When I try to run some of the MS Access reports, etc, that have been created
using that ODBC driver (and work FINE on the first computer with the Same
version of Access)...

I get the error message: "ODBC--connection to 'Visual FoxPro Tables'
Failed"

....in a generic MS Access pop-up window.

I'm kinda stumped b/c both computers are essentially identical...software-
wise.

Hi Kev,

I'm not sure which version of the FoxPro ODBC drivers installs with OWC but
the latest drivers are at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/d...s/updates/odbc/ . Try them.

Thanks very much.....that did the trick.

I'm not even sure where I got that OWC.exe file....but for anyone else
referencing this....if you created items with that OWC driver...this new one
is backwards compatible.
