I am new to VFP and would like to know what and how to view a .SET file.
Would someone help please?

First: welcome to VFP!

As others said - A .set file is not a vfp file - not that I know of.
But perhaps you have a rather old VFP version? What version do
you use? That's important for us to give you help (code) you
can really work with...

microsoft.public.fox.vfp.setup.environment

or post to
microsoft.public.fox.helpwanted or
microsoft.public.fox.pogrammer.exchange

Almost everyone helping here reads all the groups,
