FoxPro 9.0 and SQL Server Developing Info
|

| I have been searching the web looking for a book that exclusively gives
information on developing Foxpro Applications for SQL Server 2000, but I
can't find one. I am sorta new to FoxPro and need all the help I can get. Can
anyone help point me in the right direction for the best information on this
subject?
TIA,
ScottyP

| Scotty,
Go to http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalog/csvfp.htm and check out "Client-Server
Applications with Visual FoxPro and SQL Server 7.0". The concepts are not much
diferrent for SQL 2000, although you may to tweak some of the explicit code -
although VFP 9.0 is a bigger jump than the SQL server! <g>

Both SQLServer and Vfp versions are not the current ones, but it's a
brilliant book and not many concepts have changed completely, I'd say.

| Hi Scotty:
One more resource you might want to consider is the book "Visual FoxPro 6.0
Enterprise Development" by Rod Paddock and others. Chapter 12 is the
Client/Server section.
You might be able to find this book at the library or maybe a used copy on
the Internet.
While it uses VFP 6.0, much of the info is still applicable.
I hope this helps.
