SCC API Error with VFP and ClearCase
|

| Hello all,
I am trying to use VFP 6.0 with the latest version of Rational ClearCase,
and when I add new files or projects to Source Control, I dialog opens with
the following error:
"SCC API error "Unrecognized warning" occurred."
I noticed that this error message does not occur with VFP 7.0 or later. Has
anyone else ran into this and, if so, were you able to resolve it or
determine why this occurs?
Thanks!

| Hi Matt:
I looked through our Knowledge Base, and I found very little information on
Rational ClearCase and any version of VFP. I doubt that we ever tested VFP
with Rational ClearCase.
Have you tried contacting the makers of Rational ClearCase to see if they
can help? Do you get the same error if you use a Visual Studio language,
like VB 6.0, with Rational ClearCase?
I hope this helps.

| Lee,
Thank you for trying to run the problem down. No, the problem does not
occur with VS 6.0 (VB or VC++ 6.0) nor with VS 5.0. It is specific to VFP.
I actually work for Rational and I support ClearCase for our customers. I
traced the ClearCase SCC messages and they are to spec, so I think it is a
bug in VFP 6.0 as it does not occur in VFP 7.0. However, the customer cannot
upgrade from VFP 6.0 as the migration is more than they can staff.
Thanks.
