Hello,

System: VFP for Windows 2.6 patched, Windows XP SP2
Software: wgest, database VFP software without source code.

I had to install the wgest application on Windows XP. The application opens
directly on a login window without problem
When this window is passed, a new one appears and is maximized. Normally,
menus must directly appears on this one. They appear, but after one hour.
And if a menu is selected to go to a sub-menu, then makes an attempt again
of one hour.

Any idea why?

The application does not consume 100% of the CPU (in fact pratically
nothing) when the menus are been waiting.

Thank,
AlainCD

Hi AlainCD:

I have never heard of this behavior before. Have you tried deleting or
renaming the Foxuser.dbf and Foxuser.fpt files? Does this occur if you
boot the machine in Safe Mode using VGA video?
Is the application run over a network? If so, try moving everything
locally.

Do you have any anti virus software running?

we run several FoxPro for Windows (not VFP) Version 2.6 apps under xp.

I've seen issues when the application is run in 'full screen' mode.
Try running it windowed and see if that helps.

Also - even the patched version (from experience) has problems on computers
faster than 3ghz...
