Author Service interruption of cerndb1/accdb/rmdy/edmsdb

Dear central databases users,

We have been working hard in collaboration with SUN to investigate the
very severe and rare problem affecting the central cluster hosting the
four production databases cerndb1, accdb, rmdy and edmsdb, as well as
the EDMS, D7i and Axalant services.

These investigations are still going on but given the long service
interrupt this has caused, we have decided to restart the services on a
limited configuration. This restart has been performed today at 3h30 AM.
You might observe some degradation in the performances due to the
limited configuration.

In case you use a database connect string including one of the names
"dbsc11" or "dbsc12", this will fail and you will have to change
"dbsc11" or "dbsc12" into "orapdb1", as explained at=20
http://wwwdb.web.cern.ch/wwwdb/orac...ces/publicservi
ces/centraldatabase.html

It is likely that we will have to schedule a maintenance later to
restore the full configuration.
We will keep you informed of the progresses.=20

You can contact us at oracle.support@cern.ch

We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

The central database services support team
