Post Follow-up to this messageIf the errors occur no matter which tape you put in, then you have either device or driver issues. If it is only with this one tape, then you have a damaged tape which can not be read. -- Mike Mentor Solid Quality Learning http://www. solidqualitylearning .com "DC Gringo" < dcgringo@visiontechn ology.net> wrote in message news:uPe7czJDGHA.1384@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > I'm getting the following errors in SQL logs when trying to even view the > contents on my tape drive using EM: > > BackupMedium::Report IoError: read failure on backup device '\\.\Tape0'. > Operating system error 23(Data error (cyclic redundancy check).). > > Internal I/O request 0x0F32F428: Op: Read, pBuffer: 0x19D50000, Size: > 65536, Position: 0, UMS: Internal: 0xC000009C, InternalHigh: 0x0, Offset: > 0x0, OffsetHigh: 0x0, m_buf: 0x19D50000, m_len: 65536, m_actualBytes: 0, > m_errcode: 23, BackupFile: \\.\Tape0 > > Any ideas? >
