Restore paths not correct
We regularly backup a production database and restore it over a test databas
e
for testing purposes, on the same server instance.

In 2000 this worked fine. In 2005, this does not appear to be working
correctly. I use the GUI interface to do it. Here are the steps. Has
something changed or is this a bug?

1) Backup the production database as normal
2) Right click on test database, tasks, restore database.
3) "To" database is test (defaults correctly).
4) "From" database defaults to test; change to production database. As soon
as I change this, the TO database changes to match what I pick as the FROM d
b.
5) Change the "TO" back to TEST db.
6) Click on Options to check pathnames. The Original and Restore As
pathnames and filenames are the same - they are the the "FROM" filenames
(i.e. production db).

I have to manually change the Restore As to the correct MDF/LDF files which
I never had to do in SQL 2000.

Ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
