Support Forum for database administrators and web based access to important newsgroups related to databasesHas anyone tried running SQL2k x86 on a Win 2003 x64 platform? Any issues? Also, is there any benefit of running SQL in a x64 environment even though it's only 32-bit? LC
Post Follow-up to this messageYes. I run exactly such a system. Make sure and apply SP4 immediately after installing. Also apply hotfix 2040 if you are using AWE memory. I built it this way because it lets me buy better hardware with a longer life cycle. I intend to recycle this server to run native 64-bit SQL 2005 after I have converted our application to that platform. -- Geoff N.
