Support Forum for database administrators and web based access to important newsgroups related to databasesHi everyone, installed SQL Server Std. Ed. with a wrong CD Key, is there a chance to change it to the right key without uninstall/new installation of the complete product? Thanx for any help. Thomas
Post Follow-up to this messageHi you one, I don=B4t know if that will break the installation, but if your only option is to reinstall the SQL Server, that should be worth a try: http://www.extremeexperts.com/SQL/Tips/GetCDKey.aspx RegCD is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S OFTWARE\Microsoft\Mi crosoft SQL Server\80\registrati on\CD_KEY (if existing), changing this *might* help. Post Follow-up to this messageForget it, the key exists. When i change it to the "right" key, everything is working fine. Also when i change it to any CD_KEY, it works also. Thanx Thomas[color=darkred ] > Thank you, > but unfortunately CD_KEY does not exist. > Thomas > > Jens wrote: >
