Support Forum for database administrators and web based access to important newsgroups related to databasesHi, On my laptop I am running Virtual Server 2005 with 2 x Windows 2003 Servers. Both the VS can access the internet and shared files on the host laptop. On the host laptop I have a SQL Server 2000 running. I have written a Windows Service to detect Application Errors and fire duplicates of events to the database, and this service sits on both VS. It does work as I have tested it on host. BUT everytime I make application errors on the VS nothing is deposited into my database. Very frustrating! I have also tried to create a ODBC connection through the Data Source Administrator, and when I enter the login credentials for SQL I get connection error messages. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks Sun

Post Follow-up to this messageA few things to try: 1. Have you enabled TCP/IP connections to the SQL server ? (to check, enter the properties page of the server, click on "network configuration and make sure tcp/ip is enabled). 2. If no.1 doesn't help - Are you using a host name or an IP ? Try using an IP. 3. Check for a firewall on the host. Dan. sunstarwu@yahoo.com wrote: > The host & VS all use the wireless card to communicate, which is > connected to my wireless DCHP router.
