Support Forum for database administrators and web based access to important newsgroups related to databasesAfter upgrading my W2000 server running SQL2000 to Windows 2003 server in an in place upgrade, I am getting the error message below in Veritas Backup Exe c whenever I attempt to view the databases on the server. All other data on th e server is accessible and can be backed up AND this same server was successfully backing up the SQL 2000 databases prior to the upgrade. What gives? "An error occured while trying to browse the contents of Servername. A database query failed." Also -- I have tried the Veritas technote referring to changing one of the Engine setting in the registry to a 1 from a 0 but had no success.
Post Follow-up to this messageThis doesn't give us anything to go on. The application (BE) executes some S QL statement which fails. We don't know the statement, nor the SQL Server error message. I sugg est you talk to Veritas about this. -- Tibor Karaszi, SQL Server MVP http://www.karaszi.com/sqlserver/default.asp http://www. solidqualitylearning .com/ http://www.sqlug.se/ "aabrams" <aabrams@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8D728A16-E573-4906-99FF- C4D4AFF46478@microso ft.com... > After upgrading my W2000 server running SQL2000 to Windows 2003 server in an > in place upgrade, I am getting the error message below in Veritas Backup E xec > whenever I attempt to view the databases on the server.
