Sql-Server not allocating all its configured memory
Hi,
Its a 8GB w2k Advanced Server with SQL Enterprise Edition. PAE and 3GB Flags
are set in boot.ini, awe is enabled for the sql server.
The sql server is configured to allocate as much as 7 GB, but only gets 4.

Anyone got a clue?

Re: Sql-Server not allocating all its configured memory
Silly question but has to be asked.
Has the server been re-booted since making the changes?

Re: Sql-Server not allocating all its configured memory
;)
yes, a couple of times...

There are also no other apps running that could take that amount of memory
away from the server...

Re: Sql-Server not allocating all its configured memory
also tried to run this without the 3gb flag, but it didn't make any
difference...

Re: Sql-Server not allocating all its configured memory
I think I found the solution:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=899761

Theres a known bug in sp4 for sql server with awe enabled.

Cant test it right know since we need to test sp4 first, but it sounds quit
good.
