SQL Server Express Edition vs MSDE
I have heard that machines running applications with embedded MSDE
frequently experience conflicts between the MSDE apps and other
applications such as BackupExec. What can anyone tell me about this?
And if this is true, does/will the new SQL Server Express Edition
behave better?

Re: SQL Server Express Edition vs MSDE
Thats often related to the issue that the third party products only can
adress the standard instance and standard port rather than the named
instance and different ports. So thats in most cases not an issue of
SQL Server rather than the 3rd party products. If the products supplies
and interface or configuration file where you can change this, that
shouldn=B4t be a problem anymore,
