MS-DTC / SQL Server 2000There is apparently a new worm called "Dasher" that is making the rounds: http://www.computerworld.com/securi...T_AM&nid=107144 It apparently exploits a "recently patched" flaw in MS Distributed Transaction Coordinator. Does MS SQL Server 2000 require MS DTC for anything besides distributed update transactions, where "distributed" means two or more database servers? If a server doesn't participate in such transactions, can I safely disable MS DTC on that box?
